Barrier Island Aviation specializes in providing primary flight instruction to beginning student pilots as well as advanced flight instruction to experienced pilots. Our flight instruction cost is an affordable $35.00 per hour.

While the technology of aircraft and avionics have changed dramatically in the past 100 years, the physics affecting controlled powered flight have stayed very much the same. Our flight instructors have mastered the art of teaching the basics of stick and rudder work as well as the science of flight by reference to instruments.

Let the wind blow!!! The Wrights selected the Outer Banks for their early experiments primarily due to the frequent high winds encountered here. Let us show you that the wind is indeed your friend if you know how to use it to your advantage in the air. Don’t let a windy day stop you from flying once you gain the confidence you need.
